The baroness linked Mandy with her husband, Baron Peirre Emil Philipe Cervello, reputedly heir to a French sugar fortune. Now 20, Mandy was catapulted into the headlines at the time of the Profumo affair.
In that case playgirl Christine Keeler was found to have been conducting simultaneous love affairs with John Profumo, then Britain's war minister, and a Soviet diplomat. Mandy was an associate of Miss Keeler and of Stephen Ward, playboy organizer of a vice ring who later killed himself. Mandy has been touring British and continental night spots with a singing act. The Cervellos were married in 1961.. Lady Cervello is the daughter of a British baron.
Francis Library Left to Simpson (The Tribune's lowa News Service) INDIANOLA, IA. Simpson College has received the personal library of the late Senator and Mrs. Leslie E. Francis of more than 3.700 volumes, all reported to be of college and university research material. Leslie E.
Francis received his law degree from the University of Iowa. He entered the practice of law in Spirit Lake and at the age of 22 became the youngest county attorney in Iowa. He was elected state senator and served two terms un.til 1916. In 1917 he and his family moved to Des Moines. He died in 1927: his wife in 1961.
