I have to confess, I love nothing better than pottering around at home. However, I struggle to find the right comfy slipper or house shoe to enhance the experience. I love my Ugg boots, but they’re often too hot, especially in the mornings. I also wear thongs or slides, but they can be too cold – and too flat for my feet.

It’s a dilemma, let me tell you.

That was until I discovered the latest invention from the clever team at The Oodie: the Two Strap Sherpa Slide

When I first heard about the new slide from The Oodie, I wasn’t sure it would work for me. But after trying it out, I reckon it’s the best invention ever (next to the original Oodie, of course).

I spend a huge part of my life at home. I have two kids, I often WFH – and well, I just love pottering around my house. Exciting, I know.

As of late, however, I’ve been trying to up the game when it comes to my ‘at home’ wardrobe. Enter the Two Strap Sherpa Slides.

First things first, these slides look absolutely gorgeous. I couldn’t resist the pink colourway and they certainly add a touch of glamour to my tracksuit/hoodie combo. They may be a slipper, but they’re also stylish, so I have absolutely no problem wearing them at the shops or school drop off.

Next is the sherpa, an absolute breakthrough feature that offers next level comfort. These slides are completely COVERED in oh-so soft sherpa. Quite frankly it doesn’t get better than that – like heaven for my feet. Perfect, whether it’s first thing in the morning or the end of a long and busy day.

They also offer the right amount of warmth, not too hot like an ugg boot yet warm enough to keep the morning chill at bay. On those extra cool days, I’ve worn them with a pair of socks for extra warmth, which works well and looks cute. But to be honest, I haven’t needed to do this very often.

When it comes to design, these slides feel totally different from any others I’ve tried. While they look flat, they actually have an unexpected moulded footbed, and provide fantastic arch support. This took a little getting used to, but after a couple of wears, they quickly became my most comfy shoes to date, and a good alternative to my flat thongs.

Another outstanding feature is the velcro straps. I have wide feet, so these allowed me to custom the fit. It took a little trial and error to get them to comfortably fit without sliding off my foot, but I got there and haven’t looked back. They also feature a rubber sole, so if I want to wear them outside, I can – and have done many times now.

Final verdict: I love, love, love these slides. With their bold colour, fluffy sherpa covering and stylish design, it ticks all my slipper boxes. They fit well, they’re comfortable and supportive as well as warm but not too hot. I can also wear them outside without worrying about them getting damaged and without feeling like I’m wearing my slippers.

The Oodie has done it again. In fact, these slides are just like an Oodie for my feet and I could be happier. Yet another comfort accessory that makes everyday life more soft and cosy – without skimping on style.

I’m not gonna lie, I have never been an Oodie girl, but when the chance came up to try the Oodie slides, I jumped at it. The same fluffy, Oodie comfort but with loads of airflow, and a little less statement-making than an Oodie itself, these slides are the perfect way to get totally cosy, without anyone batting an eyelid. Ideal for the in-between months where uggboots are just a bit too hot but bare feet won’t cut it around the house, the Oodie slides are like a warm hug with arch support. I have a standing desk in my home office, and as a flat-footed gal, have always struggled with discomfort standing unsupported in bare feet or uggs for long periods of time, but the Oodie slides have provided the same uggboot, homey comfort with outdoor-worthy arch support. Not only my WFH uniform, these slides have become my go-to when heading to pilates and make the torturous move from my bed to my car at 6am a far snugglier experience. That is, when my family members haven’t already nicked the fluffy footwear for themselves. (My household officially has a full-time battle going on for these slides.)

I’m obsessed with these Oodie slippers! They feel super soft and comfortable, but still have a solid bottom so it doesn’t feel like regular floppy home slippers. They honestly look much better in person than on the website and are definitely stylish enough to wear outside. I’m definitely buying the pink ones on my next payday. I was slightly nervous about the sizing since they don’t have single sizes, but I’m a size 38 and the 38-39 fit totally fine. My feet don’t feel like they’re going to slide out at all and I’m not constantly adjusting them while walking. Love them!

WHAT TO CONSIDER WHEN BUYING SLIPPERS

Comfort: This is probably the most important factor, after all they are comfort shoes. They need to feel soft and cosy, yet supportive.

Fit: Any footwear needs to fit properly to avoid any discomfort or future issues.

Material: There are many different options when it comes to fabric. You might want a polyester pick to keep your feet warm in winter. Alternatively, go for a cool breathable option for summer. Or perhaps you want something that is water-resistant for outdoor wear or a fabric that doesn’t show stains easily.

Functionality: What do you need your slippers for? Will you be wearing them indoors or out? Or both? You need something that is comfortable, yet allows you to move around easily. You might also want to consider a rubber or heardwearing sole if you plan on wearing them outside or in the garden.

Care: Are they easy to wash? Being able to throw them in the washing machine is a huge advantage.

Budget: Slippers and ugg boots vary in price from budget-friendly to super luxe, so work out how much you’re prepared to spend.

WHY SHOULD YOU WEAR SLIPPERS AT HOME?

Wearing slippers at home has many advantages. Firstly, they keep your feet warm and comfortable. Wearing bare feet on a cold floor can lead to health issues such as decreased blood circulation, not to mention picking up the common cold. Hardwood floors, concrete or tiled surfaces are also hard on your feet and back. Slippers can be helpful in offering extra cushioning and support.

CAN I WEAR SLIPPERS OUTSIDE?

Definitely, although this very much depends on the slipper. These days, it’s common to see Ugg boots out and about. And The Oodie Sherpa Slide can certainly be sported around town. However, some slippers might just look like you’re, well, just wearing your slippers – but whether you’re okay with that is completely up to you.
